Danielle Scutt’s comeback collection at London Fashion Week A/W11 reminded us just why we love her. Bold and brash, her designs embrace the tongue-in-cheek side of femininity and tow the line between quirky kitsch and luxe investment pieces. Lashings of velvet, Schiaparelli pink lattice (to match Charlotte Free’s pink hair) and midi-length skirts were worn topless with blazers. It’s sexed-up, Eighties-style power dressing for now.

What really caught our eye though, was the surreal bling the models were sporting on the runway. The j

Take a quick look through the rack at The Katacomb: Vintage and it becomes clear that owner Brooke Dillon has an awesome eye. There are so many fantastic wardrobe enhancers here, especially a pair of Missoni striped knit bell-bottoms.

Either way, this retro bonanza is one of the reasons Dillon’s upscale boutique has been such a hit in Philadelphia – it’s landed her a weekly gig as a fashion expert on NBC10′s 24-hour news channel – and other vintage shops are growing more popular as well.
“I’ve always had an interest in pulling things from my grandmother’s closet and a dream of selling things that people have worn and loved before,” Dillon said.
Of course, I’m not saying the vintage trend is new, but the audience has expanded.
“In the last 10 years, vintage has gone from a niche group of buyers to a real cross-section of everyday women,” said David Ornstein, a promoter of the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show.

It was a universe of bold colour, luxe leathers and power tailoring, where Montana reigned supreme. However the Nineties embrace of minimalism saw his vision without an audience, and in 1997 he filed for bankruptcy.
While the designer now lives quietly in Spain, his name retains its ability to evoke a decade of design. The Montana legacy has been compressed into a new book, written by the designer himself with the help of fashion journalist Marielle Cro.
Claude Montana looks at the principles and practices that underpinned his world. Pun

Think aviator jackets, super coats and shearling. Both military boots and military jackets are great attire for festivals, especially if it’s still at little chilly!
Another trend to watch is mens clothes such as, suits and men’s velvet attire. In fact velvet has been one of the most fashion forward choices for this season, however, there is a rule and that rule is to not pair two or more items of velvet together. Opt fo Read the full article…
