Dance Party USA: Fashion Show at LIVE! on Sunset

March 29th, 2012 by Sebastian Heaton

While the dance party as fashion show concept doesnt have a lot of fans, we rather like the idea its fun! Theres music! It gives you the chance to see how clothes will look on real bodies who do something besides strut down the runway with a dead-eyed look! And last Thursday, we finally caught our very first dancing fashion show, at LIVE! on Sunset, put together by Lovefashion and Kelsi Smith. It wasnt high fashion, per se: the event showcased off-the-racks ware from designers like Zimmermann, J Brand, Blessed Are The Meek, Sachin & Babi, Petro Zillia, Superdry, Sass & Bide, For Love & Lemons, Joie, and a handful of others.

The show was more about fun and drumming up sales than it was about being a serious, capital-F-Fashion event, but that didnt make the spectacle any less impressive.

That means lots of colorful coats and scarves and not as many dresses and skirts as Summers would like.

“Dealing with bad weather like snow means pants, and if she’s wearing a dress, she unfortunately has to wear tights,” she says.

March 16th, 2012 by Sebastian Heaton

Kate Hudsons second Ann Taylor campaign went live this morning.  The actress shows off a colorful selection of the brands increasingly on trend clothes, so we hopped on the phone with Hudson to talk fashion, babies and what sounds like a burgeoning interest in musicals.

ELLE: Which pieces from Ann Taylors spring collection are you particularly excited to wear? KH: The pieces I really loved—there was a great cobalt blue blouse that was a really great color and then there were these lace dresses that were really nice. I’
