Today, the stunningly gorgeous Jessica Alba turns 30. The star is now busy living her happy-family life with her husband Cash Warren and her daughter Honor Marie. Japanese fashion visionary Yohji Yamamoto deserves an exhibition thats as conceptual as his designs. It’s apt then that Wapping Project has served up such an esoteric installation for the exhibition, Making Waves. Part of the Victoria & Albert museum’s major retrospective, the show comprises an oversized white silk wedding dress made with bamboo crinoline from Yamamoto’s A/W 1998 collection that hangs, solitary, in the Boiler House. The piece makes an understated statement thats typically Yamamoto.
Meanwhile, over at the Wapping Project Bankside the works of the seven photographers who produced imagery for Yamamoto’s celebrated catalogues go on display. The stellar line

Stripes are a great summertime buy. We featured a recent spread with a lot of exaggerated striped silhouettes: tight trousers, body-con blazers, and shirts with Breton stripes that most people think of as oh-so-Frawnch. This particular striped offering has a new silhouette and is fashioned in a lightweight knit for the summer months, but isnt so hard to match. A plain vest underneath will leave you even cooler underneath the linen separate.
On my weekly Oak browsing, I caught a view of the navy-and-white Utility Shawl Collar Cardigan. The 100% linen cardi is unisex, with drooping patch pockets and an overall generous drape on the frame.
